Vietnam International Communications Summit & Expo 2011 (Vietnam Comm 11) / Vietnam International Internet & IT Exhibition 2011 (‘Vietnam Internet & IT 2011’) / International Exhibition on Electronics Products in Vietnam 2011 (‘Vietnam Electronics 2011’) will be staged during November 16-19, 2011 in the Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Centre (VEFAC), Hanoi, SR Vietnam. These concurrent fairs are expected to gather over 160 local and international exhibitors.

According to ITU (International Telecommunication Union) statistics, Vietnam has been ranked at the eighth on the density of mobile subscribers in the world. These helped Vietnam to mark a far progress in comparison with other developing countries which has an average density rate of 70%. It is well exceeded the developed countries which have growth rate with an average of 114%. This demonstrates a huge market potential in the Vietnam market.

This significant figure is contributed by the high degree of 3G network coverage rate of 93.68% in the whole country with over 8 million subscribers using the service regularly. By July of 2011, 3G coverage in accordance with the population density and territory of Vietnam has reached from 54.71% to 93.68%. Obviously, there is ample opportunity for 3G content services providers to develop attractive contents with entertainment, market news and information to end users.

According to the Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) Le Doan Hop, it is the appropriate time to implement the 4G network in 2013 and not be later than in 2015. The statement made by the Minister gave a clear indication that telecommunication industry in Vietnam will undergo great change and step into a new era in few years time.

On the other hand, the Vietnam Government is committed to develop more software parks in the next 10 years such as the debut of QTSC (Quang Trung Software City). It offers many advantages for foreign content and global software companies to set up offices in the Software Cities. IT industry is expected to be Vietnam’s leading economic sector by 2020, contributing up to 8-10% of GDP. Vietnam will then be one of the rising South-East Asian countries and is expected to become top 10 software developers around the world.

To cope with the demand of exploring new IT technology and enterprises solutions, the organizers will have the following highlighted exhibit themes, including Managed Services, Enterprise/ Industry Solution, Digital Advertising & Marketing and Information Security. Moreover, in pursuit of maximum participation effectiveness for exhibitors, the organizers are pleased to provide free on-site business consultancy services to interested exhibitors. Exhibitors can discuss with onsite professional consultant on the market potential for their products/ services; how to further expand their market share and build up relationship with key potential business partners/ customers in Vietnam.

Favored by governmental policies in addition to the proven growth of foreign direct investment and huge market demand for ICT, electronics products and solutions in Vietnam, the trio expos once again received extensive support from both local and overseas operators, multi-national corporations, such as VNPT, MobiFone, Vinaphone, Orange France Telecom, Ericsson, Hitachi Cable, Huawei, Rosenberger, ZTE and many more.

Moreover, different countries and regions also demonstrate continuous support to the expos by bringing pavilions from Singapore, China and Taiwan. They will provide opportunities for business negotiations for professionals in the telecommunications, Internet, IT and electronics industries.

Apart from the exhibition, Vietnam Comm, Vietnam Internet & IT and Vietnam Electronics 2011 will also serve as the most valuable platform for advanced-level technology exchanging, market intelligence updating, business experience sharing and industry professionals networking by holding the concurrent high-level Summit. Topics in plan include “Current Development of ICT in Government, Health, Education and Community Service Sectors”, “Opportunities and Challenges for 4G Network in Vietnam”, “ICT Application for Enterprises”, “Case Studies on Value Added Services and Social Networks” and many more.
